Filled with Joy

2 Timothy 2:10~Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. (NIV) The Holy Scripture teaches that there is a divine election, yet it also indicates that people are responsible for their own rejection of God. Thus, we have to choose to accept God’s gracious invitation to us, furthermore, we must understand that God’s sovereign choice is compatible with the decisions that each of us makes. Speaking about this topic, Jesus says in Matthew 22:5~But they paid no attention and went off, one to his farm, another to his business, (ESV) This sure seems confusing, difficult, or even impossible, to explain completely. Why? Because God’s thoughts are not like ours. Isaiah 55:9~As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (NIV)

Finite humans, that is us, we can never fully understand or explain the ways of an infinite God. The sovereignty of God and human free will may seem incompatible to our minds. However, rather than dwelling on the unfathomable ways of God, Understand that people are Called, but not everyone is chosen unless we accept His invitation and then, we must become a cheerful Christian.

Are you a cheerful believer in Jesus Christ? By definition being cheerful is noticeably happy and optimistic. The world is watching all believers they want to know what it is that makes us so different when we face adversity and trials, even sickness of varying kings. I want you to know that it is not something we manufacture, conjure, or take. It is simply the joy of Jesus. Psalm 16:11~You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (NIV) Just like we go to the grocery store for food to fuel our bodies, we go to the gas station to fuel our cars, trucks, and SUVs. So too, we must come to Christ to be refueled by the joy that can only be found in His presence.

Today, why not go to God and be filled with His joy. If you have pain give it to Him. If you have a need give it to Him and let Him respond to you, with the sweet fruit found only in the presence of the One, from whom all blessings flow. The Lord is waiting to hear from you today. Go ahead and reach out to Him.
